The main acne causing factor is skin oil and this is produced by overactive glands.
Vitamin B5 (also known as pantothenic acid) regulates your oil producing glands to a
normal level, similar to Accutane without the severe side effects.
The reason too much oil is being released has to do with the lipids and fatty acid
deposits underneath the skin not getting broken down
and re-circulated into the bloodstream. Instead they are
being released as sebum (oil). What enables our body to
break down these fatty acids is directly related to an
enzyme called coenzyme A, which is an essential en-
zyme to the body and is used for fatty acid metabolism.
When there is enough Vitamin B5 available in the diet,
the deficiency in coenzyme A is eliminated. As a result, a
person's fatty acids get broken down and the skin does-
n't over release oil. Without the over releasing of oil,
acne does not occur.
Vitamin B5 is NOT dangerous. Even though high dos-
ages are required to effectively treat acne, Vitamin B5 is
water soluble, meaning any excess is lost through urina-
tion and not retained by your body. No toxicity symp-
toms have been reported in literature. No Tolerable Up-
per Limit (UL) was established by the Institute of Medi-
cine at the National Academy of Sciences in its 1998
public health recommendations for vitamin B5.
Tips to taking Vitamin B5 for acne:

♦ Take it with food, 3-4 times a day as this will minimize any side effects.

♦ Take a good multi-vitamin, B-Complex, vitamin E and fish oil or evening prim-
rose oil.

♦ Minimize alcohol consumption, which is known to deplete Vitamin B5 and other
essential nutrients in the body.

♦ There are many brands of vitamin B5 on the market. My personal preference is
SkinB5 Acne Relief products, www.skinb5.com. They use pure ingredients and
their products are specifically designed to treat acne.

Pantethine and B5 for Acne.

We have found that Vitamin B5 also called Pantethine can be used for acne. However, one problem is that large amounts of Pantethine may be required. One can reduce the amount of Pantethine required, by adding another vitamin, L-Carnitine.

Like B5, L-carnitine speeds fatty acid metabolism. L-Carnitine aids fatty acid transport across the mitochondrial membrane and boosts fatty acid metabolism, thereby reducing oil build up in the skin, which is the main culprit in acne.

I've been recently informed that acne around the chin is caused my hormones rather then bacteria. I have a rigorous routine to keep my face clean and bacteria free, but still around my chin are clusters of large zits? I use tea tree oil in my cleansers, and the rest of my face looks great, but what can I do about the rest? cure for pimples

I've been suffering with light to moderate acne since I was 10. Now it's gotten better but I still get giant breakouts before my time of month. Is there anything that you use to help clear your acne? I am currently using proactive, but it doesn't help get rid of underground acne. And does your acne wash or natural remedy get rid of acne scars too? genuine acne treatment
